Technical Sales Manager to strengthen the Helios team in 2021

Nathan Ashford has joined Helios Fire Systems as Technical Sales Manager. The expansion of the sales and technical division is seen as the next step to progress and enhance Helios’ growth and development. 

Nathan’s career began with an engineering degree from Teesside University, specialising in Industrial and Product Design. His graduate role was as a Design Engineer for a rail interiors and lighting company, before deciding to pursue a more commercial role as Technical Account Manager, managing global sales accounts that supplied to the likes of Siemens and Hitachi.

With a wealth of experience in both technical engineering aspects and sales management, Nathan then pursued a role with a spark detection system manufacturer, combining his two specialist areas as the Technical Sales Manager.  

The move to Helios Fire Systems was a natural career progression, says Nathan: “I really enjoy working with customers to understand their requirements and how they relate to spark detection and fire protection. I can now offer a comprehensive solution due to having a wider product portfolio at my disposal, which ensures the outcome is a bespoke solution to the individual application. Helios offers a full turnkey solution and I’m delighted to join the Helios team who have been very supportive and welcoming so far.”

As Technical Sales Manager, Nathan will spend the next few months immersing himself in Helios product knowledge while introducing himself to customers with enquiries and the wider market.

He’ll be responsible for supporting our business development goals for the year, dealing with technical customer enquiries and conducting site surveys using his expertise and existing engineering knowledge to recommend and specify the right systems for our customers.”

Nathan concludes: “I’m passionate about combining my sales and technical skills to come up with the right solution for a site or business requirement – and Helios offers so many different solutions for safety-critical equipment. Whether a short or longer-term project, it’s all about finding ‘the right fit’ for fire protection.”
